About Brian Storm
Brian Storm is president of MediaStorm, a multimedia production studio based in New York City.
Prior to launching MediaStorm in 2005, Storm spent two years as vice president of News, Multimedia & Assignment Services for Corbis, a digital media agency founded and owned by Bill Gates. Storm led Corbis' global strategy for the news, sports, entertainment and historical collections. He directed the development of Corbis' production tools and the representation of world-class photographers for assignment work with a focus on creating in-depth multimedia products.
From 1995 to 2002 Storm was director of multimedia at MSNBC.com, a joint venture of Microsoft and NBC News, where he was responsible for the audio, photography and video elements of the site. Storm created The Week in Pictures and Picture Stories to showcase visual journalism in new media.
Trade Show: Our weekend beings on Thursday with a one-day Trade Show at the Conference Hotel from 10AM to 5PM. Exhibitors include stock agencies, photographers, and professional service vendors who will be exhibiting their products, services and programs, all in a friendly environment. All Conference attendees are welcome to attend at their leisure. The Trade Show is free to attendees and will be promoted to the local photo community to both attend and exhibit.
SPACE IS LIMITED and allocated on a first come basis! If you would like to book an exhibit table for the Trade Show, you can do so immediately online at http://tinyurl.com/aspptradeshow.
Picture Archive Council of America: PACA is our conference partner in Boston. During Trade Show hours on Thursday, PACA is providing a demonstration of their newly launched pacaSearch (www.pacasearch.com). This mega meta-search engine is setting a new standard for stock image searching, taking hours out of your image search time. Unlike generic image search tools, pacaSearch results contain only licensable content, ranked by relevancy and quantity. Aided by a predictive text menu and built-in disambiguation of homographs and captionyms, buyers can search 150+ stock archives in seconds. This amazing tool is simple to use, lightning-fast, comprehensive—and FREE for buyers and contributing agencies alike!
Thursday’s Special Excursions: Attendees will be offered the opportunity to go on two excursions on Thursday, April 15. You will be taken on behind-the-scenes tours of WGBH (http://www.wgbh.org/) and the ICA (http://www.icaboston.org/). A fee of $10 will be charged to cover transportation costs.
